fibrin
Inflammation
is a natural part of the body's healing process.
In the initial stages, the body seals off the
injured area with a substance called fibrin.
This process causes swelling and inflammation
– the body's natural reaction to injury.
After the body's
initial inflammatory response and healing
process has begun, the body begins the process
of removing the fibrin and waste material from
the area. Naturally occurring plant-based
proteolytic, or protein digesting enzymes called
proteases, can promote this process, breaking
down fibrin and enabling toxins and excess
fluids to escape.
PhysioLogics' PTE
Support formula contains two powerful
proteolytic enzymes – bromelain and
serratiopeptidase. Both these enzymes work
together to promote the body's ability to
balance the inflammatory response. The bromelain
enzyme is extracted from the stem of the
pineapple plant. First used in 1957, it has
since been the subject of numerous studies
testifying to its powerful effects. Bromelain
breaks down fibrin and inhibits the gathering of
platelets around the healing site.
Serratiopeptidase is a
proteolytic enzyme produced by a new strain of
bacteria called E15. Recent research has shown
that this enzyme mediates inflammation by
increasing fibrin breakdown and promoting
comfort.
PhysioLogics' PTE
Support formula:
- Promotes the body's
ability to break down fibrin in tissue
- Encourages a
balanced inflammatory response
- Strengthens
capillary integrity*
