Promote
optimum iron supplies in the blood
PhysioLogics'
Iron Plex is specially formulated to provide the
body with the necessary nutrients to maintain
healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells carry
oxygen from the lungs to the tissues, and
transport carbon dioxide (a waste product) from
the tissues to the lungs, to be exhaled.
Iron is a vital
constituent of hemoglobin – a protein found in
red blood cells. Ensuring adequate iron levels
in the blood helps optimize the oxygen-carrying
capacity of red blood cells, and ensures a ready
supply of oxygen-rich blood to the tissues and
organs.
Iron deficiency may
occur in premenopausal women, athletes,
vegetarians, and the elderly. Coffee, tea,
alcohol, and soft drinks can also lower iron
levels, because these common beverages have
compounds that block iron absorption. A simple
blood test can determine if iron levels in the
blood are low.
We use a patented form
of iron-chelate from Albion Laboratories.
Studies have shown that this chelated form of
iron is up to four times more effective than
ferrous sulfate, with fewer of the side effects
common to iron supplements.
Folic acid and coenzyme
B12 (dibencozide) are two other components that
are necessary for the healthy formation of red
blood cells. The body normally has to convert
vitamin B12 into coenzyme B12 before it can be
effectively utilized. Here, we provide vitamin
B12 in its active form, so it can go to work
quickly and efficiently. Vitamin B12 and folic
acid also promote healthy nervous system and
immune functions.
Intrinsic factor, a
protein secreted by the stomach, is required for
the proper absorption of vitamin B12. However,
it is often overlooked in the development of
B-related vitamin supplements. We include
intrinsic factor in Iron Plex to ensure optimum
absorption of all the important nutrients in
this formula.
Iron Plex can:
- Provide dietary
support for optimum iron supplies in the
blood
- Enhance the proper
formation of red blood cells*
