Vitamin C Information

Dr. Alva Irish

No food purchased now a days has their correct nutritional value, unless properly raised on enriched soil, and by enriched, that means corrected with Humus, and natural means. However, Vitamin C in Humans, all primates, and guinea pigs is naturally deficient and must be replaced.

All animals have in their adrenal glands a mini factory that produces Vitamin C, all they need, at the rate of 10,000mgs a day. When an animal is ill, the first thing that goes is their vitamin C factory because of the stress, which exhausts their adrenals.

Diabetics have an exhausted Adrenal so those of you who are must take this information more seriously as well. Since C rules the immune system, they are then rendered unable to fight the illness, and get sicker.

The first line of defense in animal health is to replace that Vitamin immediately. Poisoning with Insecticides, eats Vitamin C.

If animals need 10,000mgs of C daily to live and keep their immune systems running, then we, who do NOT have that particular function of our adrenals, MUST replace it with an outside source.

In the past, the high content of C in vegetables, and Fruits was enough, but no longer.

You need to do a mental check each time you feel ill. Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you still have your appendix? Could it have ruptured?

  • Have you been bit by a tick? Rocky mountain or Lyme?

  • Did you eat oysters? (Oyster born disease)

  • Did you eat out and then your symptoms started? Listeria? Salmonella? E-coli?

  • Did you expose yourself to any kind of poisons?

  • Did you have your house depesticized lately? Dog get dipped? Kids get a lice dip?

  • Did you have your lawn deweeded lately?

  • Did you have your house de-termited lately?

  • Did you go to Walmart and buy things for the garden lately? (all of the above's fumes are in the garden center!)

  • Did you sashay out into the sun or spend a lot of time under flourescent lights or a skylight? (I do this a lot!)

Think!!!

All of the above except for the tick bite and appendix can be antidoted with Vitamin C.
Lots of C! I did a scientific laboratory experiment with raw cow's milk when I was the head of research and Development at Hill's Corporation inTopeka, Kansas (Makers of Science Diet). Cows, before they would come to be milked, had to duck under an insect roll loaded with DDT, and got covered with it on their backs, which seeped into their systems. Thus their milk was laced with DDT.

I took the raw milk to my laboratory and tested it, and of course, proved the DDT was there.
Then I took the self same milk, added Vitamin C, and waited 5 minutes, then tested it again.
NO DDT!! Not a trace!!! No kidding! I was dumbfounded, so I repeated it the next day and every day the next week, same results.

Vitamin C is the antidote to Pesticidal poisoning. So you be SURE to take your C!!!

Why do we keep a family Cow or Goat?
(a) We like "fresh" food (not stale, overcooked, denatured)
(b) We like "unadulterated" food (minimal processing, no chemicals used as preservatives)
(c) We like control over what the animal has eaten and wish it to live in a congenial environment

The organic movement (toward which we have always been partial since first reading Rodale publications in the 1970s at College) has done a high-profile job of raising questions about the health side effects of chemicals (petrochemical fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, hormone injections, growth steroids, etc) but the downside of this has been a frequent starvation of the soils on which organic crops are grown and organic animals are fed.

The soil from which your animals are feeding and your gardens grow is suffering a constant loss of elements due to the plant uptake and animal consumption of that herbage. Not all of these elements are replaced from rainfall, manure/urine excretions, and the legume conversion of nitrogen from the air. Furthermore, the more frequent tillage required by organic weed management/farming practices can interfere with an optimal soil structure for maximizing worm and beneficial microbial populations. Over time, the soil develops an imbalance in the trace elements that support natural immunity, and people (who expect to be healthy, because they have avoided all the poisonous chemicals) find their animals to have chronic problems, and eventually they find themselves getting sick as well.

Supplemental vitamins (C has a direct immune system benefit) and also minerals will treat the present sickness, but THE REAL SOURCE OF THE DISEASE IS THE GRADUAL DEPLETION OF SOIL ELEMENTS in many cases. It has been our observation that only high-input industrial farmers do regular soil testing, at least until recently. Unless you live in an area dealing with power transmission harmonics (what we used to call "stray voltage") or mining pollution of groundwater, or some similar industrial reason for chronic sickness, consider taking some soil tests, and then find a biologically-oriented agronomist to give you an interpretation of what they mean. Most land that has had an intense animal use over several years will become deficient of the volume of calcium required to balance the accumulation of potassium (from animal urine) and other elements that bind up trace minerals needed for full immune system function.
